Summer is in full swing and before we know it back to school season will be upon us. It is the perfect time to pack up some bags and head out on outings with the family. Or, even just have some backyard BBQ fun with family and friends. I know my younger boys love when we pack a picnic lunch even if the park is our destination.
This is a Fashionista Event and a promotional item was provided to me by Celebration by Frey . Hosts for this event are Still Blonde after all these Years and ModlyChic.
When planning those fun summer events, whether small and on the road or a slightly larger scale, it is always nice to have some simple options.
How much easier can it get than to have a candy bar for dessert?
No, not a ‘candy bar’ that you buy at the store. Rather, it is a Candy Bar (or some would say buffet) where you set up a bunch of different candies and let everyone pick and choose what they want!
For those who like it really simple, you can find some small containers and put candy in each.
Getting the Celebration by Frey candies is easy, too, as they are at major retailers nationwide including Walmart, Target, Party City and Michaels.
My guys and I enjoy just snacking on a handful of Sixlets with their burst of chocolate goodness. I actually think they taste a little bit like a chocolate malt ball wrapped in a candy coating. Yum!
There are so many fun colors just for this particular product.
And, the shimmer finish really makes them pop in any display.
Other items like their gumball googlie eyes, candy crumbles and Pearls are great on their own.
Even better is to use them with something.
However, they really love when we can pack some ice cream in the cooler and use the candy for toppings. Last summer, I showed how we set up a delicious Ice Cream Sundae Bar using patriotic colors. I could seriously see making simple ice cream sandwiches with ready made cookies and then coating the exposed ice cream with the crumbles and pearls.
Or have a decorate your own cupcake station with different frosting options. This was my standard for boys birthday parties and is always a lot of fun. For the birthdays, I baked the cupcakes in cake style ice cream cones which the kids adored.
For when the meal is over, everyone can grab one of the beautiful gumballs and start chewing. Just be careful with younger kids as these are HUGE gumballs.
