Since arriving in Colorado from Alaska, I have taken a job that has me out of the house more than usual. This means the need for easy dinners that the teens can help pull together or I can get ready quickly once home. When you are getting home around 7:30 p.m., you really do not want to spend an hour in the kitchen!

Add in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and the idea of cooking all our meals from scratch becomes overwhelming.

As a parent, I want to spend my time wisely. As a wife, I want to make sure my husband is fed as well as making time for us to spend as a couple.

For now, that means finding meals that are easy to make and quick to get on the table.

Kroger Fresh Ready to Heat Pizza paired with Coca-Cola as a great meal that is quick to pull together on a busy night, whether it is from work or the general bustle of the holidays. Pizza is a favorite meal for my family to eat and Coca-Cola is our go-to carbonated beverage of choice.

Most Fridays over the past years have been pizza night with me making it from scratch. Since I’m not home until later in the evening, that just won’t work for now. Ready-made is where we need to turn and I definitely prefer a fresh pizza over frozen.

Each pizza you purchase gives you that $1 off for a 1.25L beverage. When I picked up our 3 pizzas (2 for dinner and 1 for a night when both my husband and I are not home), I got 3 Coca-Cola beverages! My guys got the regular Coca-Cola while I went with Coca-Cola Zero Sugar for me. And, with a King Soopers around the corner from our new neighborhood, it was easy for me to pick it all up for dinner.

Easy, Speedy Meal For More Connection Time

A huge bonus for me when serving up an easy, speedy meal like this one is that there is more time to connect with family members.

For the moment, both my husband and I are working full time out of the house. Add in other outside activities for us and my work schedule that includes nights and weekends, and finding time to be together can be extremely challenging.

Coming home on a recent Friday evening to pizzas baked and a salad made (by our youngest!) had me breathing a sigh of relief. That meant more time that evening to spend together as a family and then as a couple.

My youngest son was happy to see me and kept giving me hugs at the dinner table.

Nourishing our bodies is important, but so is nourishing relationships.

I suspect I’ll be back at our local King Soopers to pick up this deal again. After all, it is a win all around with pizza & the soda our family enjoys for a relaxing Friday night.
