Who doesn’t love Halloween? Also, who doesn’t love stocking up on cheap candy after the holiday is over? My boys count the days until holidays just to hit up the local stores the day after and stock up on their favorites.
Okay, so maybe some of us go overboard just a bit, but you can always use that leftover candy to make some yummy treats. Whether you have an abundance of candy corn or a few bags of M&Ms, you can use the candy in so many different ways.

Homemade Butterfingers from Leftover Halloween Candy
To make homemade Butterfingers, all you need is equal parts candy corn and peanut butter. You want to match the weight of the ingredients. For example, for 8 ounces of peanut butter, you want 8 ounces of candy corn.
Microwave the ingredients until they start to melt and then stir them together and quickly spread into a pan.
Cut the candy into pieces and then dip in melted chocolate. Allow the chocolate to set up and then store in an airtight container until ready to eat.
The BEST way to melt chocolate is with a double boiler! If you don’t have one, there are a variety of universal double boiler inserts you can pick up to have when you need it.
If you think they will hang around for more than a few days, you can always freeze them. Just make sure to let them thaw for a while before eating!

Cookies Using Leftover Halloween Candy
You can make fall-themed cookies using Halloween-colored M&Ms.
Just stir the M&Ms into your cookie dough and bake as normal. The nice pops of orange and brown can be so pretty on your Thanksgiving dessert platter. If you have M&Ms that have black ones in the bag, you can pick those out so the colors match fall colors.
I am also quite partial to adding diced up candy bars to a basic sugar cookie recipe. Or, if you want something with a little more nutritional kick, substitute M&Ms or diced candy bars for the chocolate chips in my Chocolate Chip & Flax Seed Cookies.
When it comes to baking those cookies, make sure to line your pans!
If the baking temperature is under 400 degrees, I love to use a silicone baking mat. You can find a variety of shapes and sizes to fit your baking pans.
When the baking temperature hits or goes about 400 degrees, I switch to Parchment paper. Typically, I can get 2 or 3 uses from the same sheet of paper. I always buy a large roll that can be cut to size. However, you can also find some precut ones, too.
The cookies can usually be popped right off the mat to then transfer to a cooling rack.
Brownies Using Leftover Halloween Candy
You can also use all your chocolate bars to make brownies.
Mix up your brownie batter and add chopped up candy bars. Add a mix of different candy bars. It can be fun to bite into a brownie that has Snickers, Milky Way, and Almond Joy all in one bite.
You can also frost your brownies and then put chopped candy bars on top.
I’m going to try making my Flourless Brownies with diced up candy bars for the boys. Just substitute chopped up candy for the craisins, pistachios, and chocolate chips. I bet they’ll be delicious!
Crafts You Can Eat with Leftover Halloween Candy!
Jolly Ranches and Lifesavers can actually be used in crafts.
You can get silicone molds that look like jewelry or high heels and fill them with Jolly Ranches. Pop the pan in the oven until the candy melts and remove from the oven. Once the candy is set, you can remove it from the molds.
This can be so much fun for preteens. And they make a great party favor!
Snack Mixes Featuring Leftover Halloween Candy
Last, but not least, you can make a great snack mix by mixing caramel popcorn with different kinds of candy, such as chocolate covered raisins, Reese’s Pieces, and other small candies.
Just get an airtight container, mix the ingredients together, and store for a quick snack.
If you have leftover Halloween candy, you can make some really yummy snacks and desserts. Whether you make cookies or homemade snack mixes, you can put that leftover candy to good use. Or, in the case of our family, stock up on Halloween candy when it is marked down to made all this awesomeness.
